Ruth Leitzke, has been coaching volleyball for about 30 years. She has coached many levels and many types of volleyball. She is credited with the growth of Wisconsin PoWer VBC over the past 16 years. Letizke is all about sharing her love of the game of volleyball with as many athletes as possible! Her competetive nature and love of the game helped her lead Hustisford Volleyball to 4 state tournament appearances and one title. She has helped a long long list of athletes get recruited to a college to play volleyball and is thrilled that many of them have returned in recent years to give back and coach within our club!
Program Director - Lead Coach
Erika Candler, is a college pedigreed coach with Beach CAP 1 Certification. She has coached High School and College as well as the past five years with Wisconsin PoWer in Club. Along with her accolades as a coach she had very productive careers as a volleyball player, both at the High School and the Collegiate level.
At Indiana-Purdue Fort Wayne
Candler stepped right into the Mastodon offensive and posted great numbers in her only season. She had 1171 assists, averaging 11.15 per game along with 269 digs. She was named to the All-Independent Second Team for her efforts. Candler posted 13 "double-doubles" in her final season. She was named to the All-Tournament Team at the Hofstra/Asics Invitational and was MVP of the Western Illinois/Pizza Hut Invitational.
At Troy (State) University
While at Troy State Candler placed herself in Troy's record-books multiple times. In single-season records, Candler holds the second spot in assists with 1,486 and made the list two other times with 1,179 and 934 assists. She holds three of the top four spots for assists per game with 12.18 (#1), 12.03 (#2), and 11.39 (#4). For match records, Candler holds records in assists and service aces. In her career at Troy, Candler placed herself on five career record lists. In assists, she holds the number three spot with 3,599 assists. She is the leader in assists per game with 11.92. In service aces, Candler holds the bottom position with 96 as well as in digs with 684. Candler just made the cutoff for digs per game with 2.29. In the Atlantic Sun Conference, Candler held the #2 spot in assists with 1,179 and 12.03 per game. Candler was also named to the Atlantic Sun All- Freshmen squad in 2001 and was an Academic All-Conference member in 2002 and 2003.
At Hustisford High School
While at Hustisford High, Candler excelled on the court. She was named to the First Team All-Conference all four years as well as the Honorable Mention All State Team her sophomore year and in her junior year she was named to the Third Team All-State Team. In her senior year, she was named to the First Team All-State. She finished her career as the school's all-time leader in assists (2,643) and service aces (273). In 2000, Candler led the Falcons to the 2000 state title with a 40-1-2 record. She was named to the Wisconsin Coaches Association All-Star Team in 2000. In club, Candler played for Wisconsin Power VBC from 1999-2000 and the Milwaukee Sting VBC from 1995-1998.
